Modelling together for more than 40th Years!
The model railway club has recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary and seeks to bring together those in the Cheltenham area with an interest in modelling railways, enabling us to collectively achieve something bigger than might be possible individually.
Our ‘clubroom’ is a village hall just outside Cheltenham where we have nearly exclusive use of the facilities. Club nights are Wednesdays, meeting from 8pm to 10pm, all year round. The location is accessible for Cheltenham and places to the east such as Bourton, Andoversford, Northleach, etc. Membership is diverse, drawn from Cheltenham and its surrounding towns and villages.
We are currently building a fairly large analogue ‘00’ gauge layout, which can be seen in various stages of construction in the photographs on this page. Being a small group of average abilities we try to capture the atmosphere of a model railway rather than getting carried away on every detail. We believe a model railway is to be enjoyed rather than a chore.
Membership is open to all from age 13 upwards; club nights are relaxed and sociable. We would welcome like-minded people who are interested in joining us or just coming along to see what can be achieved. Please contact the club Secretary for more information or if you would like to drop in and meet us.
